Scalability Experts, Inc. announced today that Microsoft has selected Scalability Experts, aMicrosoft NSI Partner with Gold Competencies in Data Platform and Business Intelligence, tobe a consulting services partner for their new line of SQL Server 2008 R2 PDW and DatabaseConsolidation Appliances jointly developed with HP, Dell, and other hardware vendors.Scalability Experts will provide SQL Server consulting and implementation services to maximizethe out-of-the-box features, benefits and performance enterprise customers’ gain frompurchasing an appliance solution. Appliances, which are an integrated hardware, softwareand service solution, reduce complexity, lower costs and reduce the time it takes to set up asolution, compared to more traditional data warehouse or consolidation approaches. The consolidation appliance helps customersdeploy databases in minutes instead of weeks; reduces operations costs up to 75 percentthrough savings in floor space, energy and infrastructure; and requires no application ordatabase changes when customers consolidate databases.

The SQL Server 2008 R2 Parallel Data Warehouse Appliance, optimized to improve access,delivers faster queries and any size PDW implementation can be deployed 10 times faster than traditional deployments. It also provides the agility needed to grow from 38 to more than500 terabytes of information, without impact to performance. The SQL Server 2008 R2 PDWAppliance is a complete solution with a single view across the enterprise that lowers costs,reduces risk and speeds up the delivery of information resulting in faster business benefits.
