Solution Sales Manager – Chicago

Summary

(Other locations will be considered) - Central US; The Solution Sales Manager – Central is focused on achieving the revenue goals of the company for the assigned geographic territory. They are responsible for attaining their quota numbers, maintaining a balanced pipeline, reporting sales activities, performing any and all activities necessary in order to achieve these goals.

Key Responsibilities

Achieve assigned quota (Should have Solution Selling experience and comfortable with carrying a $1 Million - $2 Million quota)

  • Maintain existing and create new relationships within the Microsoft and HP districts
  • Focus on key Microsoft personnel
  • Maintain existing and create new relationships with all partners Microsoft, HP, and other significant ISVs or hardware vendors
  • Be able to prospect and develop direct customer opportunities using appropriate collateral, phone calls, and other prospecting methods (expectation 40% of pipeline mix)
  • Understanding SQL Server and where it fits within Microsoft’s Application Platform is highly desirable

Maintain a balanced pipeline

  • Maintain a healthy Sales activity log - 3 significant sales events 3 times per day, 3 days per week, 3 weeks per month
  • Documentation and participation in weekly sales pipeline meetings
  • Full coverage of the geography
  • Travel as necessary (expected less than 40%)

Follow sales process

  • Write/Draft SOWs and proposals
  • Submit for consulting approval
  • Create, fill and file all sales engagement forms into the document library

Manage customer references

  • Ensure follow up on all engagement to generate Partner points and references
  • Follow up on SE survey results

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Experience with Solution Selling (Preferred background is in selling technology services related to Data Management, Business Intelligence and IT Transformation)
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a variety of customer situations and questions
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to resolve issues on the phone and escalate when appropriate
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office
  • College Degree a plus but not required
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment preferred
