Database Consultant
Summary
In this role, you will design and develop SQL server objects such as packages, procedures, views, triggers for high-performance DML. Design and develop SQL objects for high-performing database batch processes. A database consultant will be involved in troubleshooting, analyzing, and proposing solutions to coding issues. Write clear program/module technical specifications including specifications for others to build and review of work of peers. Perform performance tuning, profiling and monitoring of SQL through a variety of tools and applications like SQL Trace, Profiler, Perfmon and other application benchmarking activities.
Educational Qualification and Experience Required
- Solid T-SQL development skills and experience
- Solid T-SQL performance tuning experience with Profiler, Indexing Wizard, and execution plan analysis
- Excellent design and development experience with SQL objects for high-performing database batch processes
- Excellent database design experience for transactional and reporting applications
- Excellent knowledge of indexing strategies and indexing types
- Excellent knowledge of primary/foreign key relationships
- Advanced DMV knowledge
- Solid understanding of delivery of work estimates for proposed changes, both small and large in scope
- Solid experience as a SQL Server 2005/08 developer
- Development experience in team environment with mid to high-end projects from inception through delivery with competency in most of the following areas
- Logical and physical database design experience
- SQL Server 2005/08 RDBMS database development including T-SQL programming
- Client facing and thinking strategically from client’s perspective to deploy correct solutions
