It offers investors a well-rounded portfolio of products to meet varying investor requirements and has presence in 159 cities across the country. They engaged Scalability Experts to help them design and deploy a Disaster Recovery management project in order to safeguard the valuable digital assets (data) to ensure effective servicing of its customers. The high-level goal for the engagement was to analyze the existing SQL Server infrastructure and perform the Disaster Recovery management of their database.
Scalability Experts laid out a stepwise plan to implement the Disaster Recovery Solution and started by installing the SQL Server with the same configuration as Principal Server on the Mirror Server. Next, SE performed a Full & Log backup for the Mirroring database on the Principal Server. After the backup the Principal Database was restored on the Mirror Server using the WITH NO RECOVERY option. SE implemented mirroring across the two servers using Certificate based authentication as the Principal Server was in Domain & the Mirror Server was in Workgroup. The company also participated in DR drills and tested the Failover & Application connectivity after Failover. In addition, SE created documentation of the entire project covering all the steps involved for audit purposes and customer reference.
Disaster Recovery Management helped the company to comply with the SEBI regulation of a DR management plan in place. It ensured that the company had a back-up of its critical data in case of a failover and that the crucial data pertaining to its clients and their investments was not lost. The successful implementation of the DR Solution helped the company avert huge business loss caused otherwise, by being put on the defaulters list by SEBI.
